DIY Kids Lollipop Bouquets

Need a Quick Gift for a Recital, Play, or Graduation?

These 5-minute lollipop bouquets cost about $1 each to make!
 

My little girls have a dance recital coming up, and I wanted to get a little-something for each of the girls in their class. In search for an alternative to pricey floral bouquets, I came up with this fun {and tastier} version. It features organic lollipops and turned out to be a cute twist on the old classic.

The Spring season is host to plenty of bouquet-worthy kids events (e.g., recitals, plays, concerts, graduations), and this super-easy, super-quick project will save you a pretty penny next time you need to head out to one of them!

Lollipop Bouquet Materials:

• Tissue Paper
• Cellophane
• Curling Ribbon
• Lollipops
• Tape
• Scissors

Lollipop Bouquet Tutorial Instructions:
 

1. Create a Perfect Square: With tissue paper facing down, fold up one corner to meet up with the opposite corner. Then trim off the rectangle-shaped excess strip.

2. Fold into Smaller Triange: Take your current triangle, and fold it over itself to create a smaller, stronger base. Place the tip that has no openings at the top.

3. Secure the Lollipops: Using tape (I used washi tape but since you can't see it when you're done, I'd recommend regular scotch tape instead because it's stronger--a couple of my lollipops started to come loose), secure the lollipops to the paper. I used 6 lollipops in each bouquet, so I created 2 rows of 3 pops.

4. Fold in the sides: Fold each side of the triangle in and secure with tape on the side.

5. Prepare the Cellophane: Cut a strip of cellophane the length of the roll and about 14" wide. Fold it in half lengthwise. Place it down and line up your "tissue paper/lollipop packet" just beneath one of the corners. BTW-the cellophane was a pain to cut--I found that the sharper scissors worked better, but there was still a lot of choppiness that I went back and corrected after I finished).

6. Fold and Wrap: Fold "tissue paper packet" sides in one more time. Wrap the cellophane around one side, then the other. Do what you can to "hide" the ends of the cellophane behind the bouquet. Secure by tying a knot with a strip of curling ribbon.

7. Trim the Bottom and Finish Up! Trim the excess cellophane from the bottom. Add more curling ribbon, and curl all the strips. You also might want to smooth out any rough edges of cellophane with your scissors.

How easy was that?! And there's a chance you'll even have all the materials at home and not even need to run out to the store--how great would that be? Even so, it's hard for me to pass up any excuse to head to the craft store ;)

I don't think I've ever met a kiddo who didn't like lollipops, so this thoughtful, handmade sentiment is sure to sweeten their special day!
