Teaming Up with Habitat for Humanity
Plus ROOM REVEALS coming soon! But I'll give you a teaser ;)
Back in September of last year, I got an email from Charlotte of Ciburbanity
that put a huge smile on my face--I'm talking a smile that lasted for a
good week. She was looking for like-minded bloggers from the Northeast
to design and furnish a newly-built Habitat for Humanity house. Needless
to say, signing up was a no-brainer! Check out Charlotte's post here
in which she describes the project in more detail.
I soon found out that I would be in charge of a bedroom for the family's three-year-old boy, and I couldn't have been happier; I happen to live with my own three-year-old boy, so I knew I'd have no problem channeling that energy.
But
before the fun designing-stuff could really begin, we teamed up for a
Bloggers Heart Habitat work day at the site. We met at the site on a
freezing cold March day (MAN, I give credit to those Habitat volunteers
who show up week after week no matter the weather).
Here's Jaime (of That's My Letter) and me working on priming closets during our build day.

There
was still plenty of work to be done when we left that day, but the time
I spent there got me inspired to start really planning!
Here's a couple more shots of the room from when we were up there in March.
And here's Charlotte (the amazing brain-child of the whole operation!) hard at work that day.
This past weekend we all met at the house and set up furniture and decorated for the sweet family who will be moving into their NEW HOUSE next month. The family met us there at the end of the day for their first walk-through, and they are now SO excited to move in! The big reveals are coming soon, but I can't express enough how grateful I am to have been part of this amazing team of bloggers.
And... I promised a teaser... (but if you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen it!). Either way, there will be plenty more coming soon!
